1955 William Russell Button watercolor painting on paper “Masterpiece of the Month”, depicting an imaginary Art Exhibition, in honor of Button's friend Herbert Freidlich, where the patrons gather and gawk at his likeness as a 17th century dandy. Button owned a prestigious art gallery on Chicago's Michigan Avenue and was additionally a watercolorist. Inscribed “Birthday Greetings from HAF from WRB, Dec. 21, 1955”. Framed in wood framed matted without glass. Measures 13in x 10in framed and 8in x 5.25in watercolor only. Condition: some light foxing to left side image. good
